It's official...PNG here I come!

Just sent off my deposit for a 9 day cruise on the Star Dancer in PNG. Nearly at the same time, I received and email from the capt. of the Sun Dancer II in Belize confirming that he'll be on the boat the same time I will and totally geeking me up with how great the diving is going to be. Even though it's a year away, I'm so excited I can't even begin. I'M GOING TO SEE CLOWN FISH!!!

Congratulations!!! You will have a blast. When are you going? If it's in a years time that's roughly when I plan on going over too. Although I'm not nearly as organised as you!!

We're booked July 5th - 14th. Come on and join us! Only reason I'm so organized is because we dropped a deposit before we left Belize. As for the clown fish, no we don't get them in California or in the Carribean. The closest I've ever come to seeing them in the wild was i my salt water reef tank. Not very wild at all.

A good camera...sigh. Wish I had the money to drop on a good camera set up, but something had to give. For my last trip, I counted on the kindness of others to provide me with pictures. Might have to chance the same for this trip.

I'm on the Star Dancer in October of this year for 10 days. I'm counting down the days. After the Star Dancer I'm gonna go do 10 days at Tawali Resort(Milne Bay). I've heard the muck diving at Tawali is almost as good as Lembeh Strait which is one of my all time favorite places. I can't wait.

Let me know how it goes. I'm looking for a place to decompress for a few days after we get off the SD. I think we'll be docking back in Rabaul though.

When I do the SD they are going from Walandi Resort. I guess it depends what time of year you go.

Yeah, my understanding is that during the winter months the trade winds are up, so the itinerary is different. Even so, I hope you'll give us a complete report when you come back. It'll probably go something like this though:
6:30 wake up
7:00 breakfast
8:00 dive briefing
8:15 dive
9:30 rest
10:30 dive
12:00 lunch
1:30 dive briefing
1:45 dive
3:00 rest
4:00 dive
6:00 dinner
7:30 dive

Not a bad day . Hopefully, you'll be able to provide some details to fit in there.

Scuba Toys have a great little Prosumer Camera for a fair price in the Ikelite housing with the Nikon. Some of the Nikons have an underwater shooting mode btw.

If you go that way purchase a red filter for tropical water.

Thats the cheapest option. Otherwise your looking for strobes etc which is when it gets expensive m8.

The cost is well worth it years after the dive.
