As I got into MAJOR trouble with credit cards in my "stupider" days, I now only use them for emergencies and try as I might, I just can't classify a trip to Fiji as an emergency... BUT I do have about 75000 Advantage Miles that I've been saving so maybe I can do something with that.

I may have a group heading there this summer... if we go you're welcome to come along!

If my group decides to go elsewhere then I'm always up for a trip back there and I have enough continental miles to make it.

Beqa

Sounds good, how many dives per day are offered with that package?

I've been fortunate to visit 3 times in 5 years. Get out of Nadi as quick as you can. Anywhere along the southern main island coral coast is so so diving, Beqa Lagoon is great, and Taveuni was fantastic.

I really liked Kulu Bay resort on Beqa island, $999 for a weeks stay room and food, upscale with only 7-8 bures that are 1200 square foot each but affordable. Kinda like a 5 star resort with a Gilligans island feel.

Fiji....soft coral capital...yep, I could handle that.
Just seeing all the different critters from the Caribbean would be cool.

I understand June was pretty much overcast and chilly most of the month. March is supposed to be a better shot. (Or July....Google Earth shows it to be bright and sunny today.) I can handle cooler water temps if I can just get a nice warm/hot surface interval!

I thought you only went in if the water temp was above 82!

Told you how awesome Fiji diving is but guess you needed to hear it from other divers.

As for the weather, it rained more when I was there in March. The weather during my June/July trip was absolutely beautiful!!

BTW... I meant a group trip for summer 2010 not this summer.
