Cheap Flights out of Atlanta for diving trips

I've been pricing some flights out of Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale on Spirit Air. I've never flown them before, but I just joined their $9 club to get better rates on a flight in April for a cruise. If you can travel light (i.e., don't check your bags) you can do really well on the fares. I've actually found some flights which I could book for $0 and just pay about $10 in fees each way. Then they get you with baggage charges and seat reservation fees. But if you can get everything you need in a carry-on and take whatever seat they want to give you, it's doable. You can also get cheap flights from FLL to the Bahamas, Cancun, etc., if you want somewhere more exotic. At the worst, I'm sure my son and I could get by with 1 checked bag. I'll be looking to get down to the keys for diving when I can.

It costs $40 to join the $9 club. You then get $9 off each flight segment.
