Hilton Head S.C.
Me and my wife just got a trip to Hilton Head, S.C. and I wondered what the diving was like there, where some good spots are, what kind of wildlife (mainly sharks) I would possibly encounter and when a good time to go would be. We have 18 months to get the trip in and we are looking at this Sept. but can wait until next summer to book if that is better. Thank you SO MUCH for your input!

ok...from other research it looks like there isn't much diving to do in the hilton head area...what about savannah georgia?

There isn't any dive shop on HHI, you need to go north to Charleston or south the Savannah.
The diving in both areas is off shore, and about a 1 to 2 hour boat ride. In Savannah I dove with Mako Charters, needed to go 20 miles off short to get to deep/ semi clear water (30 ft vis) In Charleston we dove a wreck with Charleston dive , again about 20 miles out. Jim Breslin |
