The currents were ripping today (3+ knots). We were scheduled to do a wreck but ended up doing two drift dives instead. No worries. On the first I saw the biggest friggin parrot fish I've ever seen - at least 4 ft. I'm not exaggerating. And the second dive we saw reef squid, a turtle, nurse sharks, morays, lobster and a stone crab being cleaned by an angelfish. Oh and did I mention all the hogfish? I don't spear and I wished I had a hawaiian sling.
Welcome to South Florida.

Welcome to South Florida.
There are a bunch of huge midnight parrotfish around, I don't know if those are the ones you saw. They are usually in small pods of 4 to 5 fish however.

Wiz -
This was a stoplight. The remora is about 1 ft so you get a little perspective on the size of this mutant! He was on the false reef east of Razzle Dazzle.
I was diving with the Video Dude. These are a couple stills off his video. We'll be on Enzo's boat next Tues 10/20 btw. I'm into my event season now so my "weekends" are whenever I can grab a day off! Anyone is welcome to join us - can't make any promises but my animal karma has been good lately ...

THAT IS A BEAST!
You're very lucky to have weekends in the middle of the work week... I love diving during the week I just don't get many free weekdays anymore say hello to VD for me. I'll probably be diving & fishing the weekend after your dive since it's my b-day =)

:-) That's too funny. I'll definitely post a message when I arrive & decide on dive op and the day(s) I will dive on.

If my girlfriend comes along for snorkeling, is there generally anyting for her to see near the dive sites? Or should I just plan on taking a different snorkling trip altogether. Ideally she can snorkel while I am diving...

For a easy snorkle trip, I would recommend the Nuestra Senora Snorkel Trail -AKA Datura Ave Beach Dive.
Fill Express -- The Best Shore Dive in Florida

There is parking nearby and a shower.

that's why you might like sea experience for an afternoon boat(2:00 leave time)-they usually do a shallow reef with snorklers and divers kind of tag along-lots of marine life and usually an hour bt

K..late notice, but I will likely go tomorrow, or maybe even on Wednesday. Is any of you guys planing to go?

Haven't decided on the op yet - I really want to do the 5-wreck-treck, but it looks like Sea Experience doesn't have it on Tuesdays. Will have to wake up early tomorrow and call a few places.

I will check the board for sure befor eI leave in the morning.
