Can you recommend a dive shop in Ft. Laureldale?
Hello guys
It looks like I will get an unexpected opportunity to dive in Ft. Laureldale. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good dive shop. My interenet search found a few affordable places, but I also wanted to see if anyone has a recommendation. Thanks in advance Sasha |

At the risk of sounding like a parrot, I'll ask you this question: Do you want a dive shop or a dive op?
I can give you both, but some of the best dive ops don't have a dive shop and the best dive shop doesn't have a boat. American Dream is a very well liked dive op. I like Parrot Island. SFDH and Sea Experience as well. Pro Dive is also experiencing a resurgence and they're doing a great job at attracting the locals. There are many more and they all have their pros and cons depending when and where you want to dive. If you give me more details about what you want to do I can give you more specific information too. Have a great time!

Thanks a ton for recommendations guys.
DM Wiz - I'm just looking to dive in warm water (I live in Toronto - enough said :-) - and I was looking for a dive op , apologies for not being specific enough. I see that most of the shops dive the same locations - i.e. the ones in table below. Are there any dives you'd recommend? Sunday, October 4 Tracy (70’) / 30’ Reef Monday, October 5 Merci Jesus (70’) / 30’ Reef Tuesday, October 6 Hog Heaven (70’) / 30’ Reef Wednesday, October 7 Edmister (70’) / 30’ Reef Thursday, October 8 Jay Scutti (70’) / 30’ Reef Friday, October 9 Tenneco Towers (110’) / 30’ Reef Saturday, October 10 Tracy (70’) / 30’ Reef Saturday, September 10 NIGHT Mercedes (100’) / 30’ Reef Sunday, October 11 Edmister (70’) / 30’ Reef Monday, October 12 Hog Heaven (70’) / 30’ Reef Tuesday, October 13 Jay Scutti (70’) / 30’ Reef Wednesday, October 14 Merci Jesus (70’) / 30’ Reef Thursday, October 15 Edmister (70’) / 30’ Reef Friday, October 16 Mercedes (100’) / 30’ Reef Saturday, October 17 Jay Scutti (70’) / 30’ Reef Saturday, October 17 NIGHT Hog Heaven (70’) / 30’ Reef Sunday, October 18 Tracy (70’) / 30’ Reef |

The 5 wreck trek is basically the Mercy Jesus, The Tracy, The Scutti, The Pride and The Moonshot. The first three are nice, but since there's usually a north current you're usually dropped on the Moonshot and drift to the others. I often just skip the first two and spend most of the dive in the last three with a north current. Max depth is 75'

Tracy (70’) / 30’ Reef Monday, October 5 Merci Jesus (70’) / 30’ Reef You can do both of these on one dive, (read the previous post on the wreck trek) Tuesday, October 6 Hog Heaven (70’) / 30’ Reef Wednesday, October 7 Edmister (70’) / 30’ Reef Thursday, October 8 Jay Scutti (70’) / 30’ Reef Most of these 70' wrecks are about the same. Friday, October 9 Tenneco Towers (110’) / 30’ Reef Tenneco is a very cool deeper dive. Highly recommend it ![]() Another dive I would recommend, but it's absent from your list is The Sea Emperor (Specially at night). You can also hit a couple of other wrecks from there. The Miracle of life is a newly sunk ship in deeper water. Both of the night dives listed are also very nice. Specially Hog Heaven. Yes a lot of the ops go to the same places all the time so you can pick which op based on their scheduled locations. But the difference is often going to be on the little things like bottom times SIs and your second site. Some ops will go to near shore reefs that get visited very often while others will take you to less visited sites.
