New to diving and I'm trying to find some good spots around the Clearwater/St. Petersburg area? (offshore and inshore)

I was certified with Capt. Joyce's instructors from Narcosis. Awesome peeps - she can definately hook you up. There are alot of sites out in the gulf, off Hudson all the way down to Sarasota. Alost of wrecks, ledges etc. I could rattle off GPS points all day long to you but those are sacred (if you know what I mean) Veteran's reef offers a great dive in around 40 ft and the LSM's south of that in 48 I believe is an awesome dive. Both are off Clearwater. Viz needs to be good in shore though unless you go out to 80 ft +. These #'s you can get off the internet

I did a 3-tank dive with Cortez Scuba thru ScubaQuest in Sarasota. We did 3 wrecks out in the Gulf. Service was very good, diving (in July) was very good and clear, price was good. They let my buddy and I dive our own profile as long as we were on a computer. I'll go with them again when I'm in the area.

Check out Venice Beach (shore diving), about an hour south of Tampa. There are tons of shark and meg teeth. It was fun!
