Wetsuit Thickness

Heading down to the Keys for two weeks in december and back in the summer. Any suggestions on wetsuit thickness? Full or Shorty?

I dive Florida all the time and I use a full. Not that it's cold just for the protection it affords.

I use a full no matter time of year. In the really warmer waters I used a 1mm suit. Colder waters I use a 3mm. If it is cold enough to have anything thicker than that I won't dive it.

Wow, some tough people... I am in a 4/3, with hood that time of year, or a 7/5 without... but I don't like to be cold....Would be in a 5mm, if I had one.

For a few more responses/opinions, check this thread that I started a while back: What wetsuit for West Palm Beach and Key Largo in December?
