I did this dive in February and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it is comparable to a real ocean dive in any way but it was cool to see the big logger heads up close and also to get some education on how a tank that big is maintained. My one knock is that it is pretty dark, but if you think about how much light it would take to make it really bright it would be uber expensive and probably would raise the water temp.

it could raise the water temp, and also increase algae growth with more light....
I asked the same thing. "why is it so dark?" well they told me it used to be darker. Once inside the tank though and not in the viewing area it didn't seem as bad. I actually thought the viewing area was pretty dark and dismal and almost seemed dirty because of the low lighting. That and the "Finding Nemo" ride takes up part of the viewing area that used to be open windows, which makes that area even darker. |

Ive always seen the tanks and then one time actually saw a diver in there..
What times do people dive in the tanks? I am going down to Disney in December (probably wont dive at Epcot) and would like to catch the dive from the "dry" side of the tank. If would be easier if i knew what time they went to dive. |

yes... but I think the price went up a smidge this year. just ask them for the PADI, Naui, or AAA discount. see what gives best. but it's easy to get a 10% discount and they don't check anything at booking time. all you have to have at the dive is your c' card. |
