Nicotine is the most addictive and deadly compound one can ingest. I have friends who have been able to stop using cocaine, heroin and alcohol but are absolutely not able to stop smoking. That should tell you something.

Boredom after 2 years the first failure. Alcohol after 3 years the 2nd time. It now been 22 years since I last quit - not going to happen again.

My wife blames not diving (she's certified) on the fact that she can't smoke down there.

i started smoking bout round 1993, quit cold turkey in 1997... started back again 7 years later in 2004! my excuse was to tick off my then-wife. Yes, i did it just to piss her off and it worked like a charm ;-) I still smoke today, and it ticks my now-wife off too... hmm go figure.

    I quit 15 years ago.
    I still get cravings.
Not often, not intense, not long lasting.
You would think it would be over and done with after all this time.
