Yay!!!!!
Well I have been wanting my gf to take an interest in diving. Didn't want to pressure her into doing it if she didnt want to. She has been going with me on all my dive trip the last 4 or 5 months. She said that she gets really bored just sitting in the tahoe while i dive. Today she told me that her dad said that if she passed her chemistry class this semester, then he would pay for her classes. Hopefully she will do just fine in the class, not just because of the scuba. But if she does, then I have a new dive buddy

Sounds like your kinda in the same boat I'm in. My girlfriend wants to get her certification, but just doesn't have the time. She has a full time job and a full work load with school right. Her parents (who are both certified) are the ones that keep bringing it up I guess. I've given her the name of all the local dive shops in the area (well the 3 within like a 100 miles of here) so that she can call and get more info. I've also told her that I'll take her some place towards the end of the year to go diving if she gets her OW certification though (like the keys or some place in the carribean).

Well I hope I didnt jinx myself by posting this thread. She said she was always bored while I dived. I told her she didnt have to do but she said she wanted too. I have purchased an underwater camera and been showing her the pics I take when I get out of the water. She loves looking at them. Hopefully it will work out for you and me

Well the way I am doing it though not optimal is "dragging" my boyfriend to cozumel and having him do his certification while we are down there that way there are no excuses. I just can't take the hemming and hawing and schedule conflicts anymore. This way we can just figure out if he likes diving or not and get on with it.

I guess I'm extremely lucky.. my main squeeze signed up for classes to have more together-time. No arguments here!
Good luck to all having their SOs (and best friends, siblings, or whatever floats your boat) sign up, sometimes it's a pain having to juggle conflicts of interest like that |
