Winter Wonderland... (with pics)

Sigh... it will never end. This is why I won't be diving for another 3-4 months. Here is the forecast for this weekend:

ANOTHER WINTER WALLOP THREATENS SPRING FORWARD WEEKEND.. THIS IS AN ALERT TO THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF DANGEROUS WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THESE REGIONS.

IT APPEARS THAT THE SNOW WILL COME IN TWO DOSES. THE FIRST SHOT WILL BEGIN AS EARLY AS FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS THEN EXPECTED IN THE SECOND SHOT BEGINNING LATER SATURDAY. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO LAST FOR 36 TO 48 HOURS. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR 30 TO 50 CENTIMETRES OF SNOW OVER THE NIAGARA PENINSULA AND PARTS OF EASTERN ONTARIO. BEHIND THIS SYSTEM WE COULD SEE STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS TO 60 KM/H. ON SATURDAY STRONG WINDS COMBINED WITH FRESH SNOW WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW TO LOWER VISIBILITIES AND CREATE DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE SO TRAVELLERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ALTER THEIR PLANS ACCORDINGLY.

This is the aftermath of the LAST storm (30cm) ... where am I supposed to put another 30-50cm?!? Plus, my back is now aching because this snow was so heavy this time and I'm hurling it over 7ft. I feel so sorry for newspaper delivery people at this time.

My front walkway

Looking from inside the house at the walkway

The snow piled high in the centre of my court. See the car? The snow is a lot of fun for the kids though.

Your whole life? Pft, that's nothing. That's only since mid-January. We had a melt at the beginning of January almost down to the grass and then it all piled up again. Haha. Thank goodness I ski too!

Having lived in Syracuse and Fulton NY that amount of snow isn't really anything I haven't seen before, or even deeper than that. My dad has pics of when the snow was over the roof height, he had a tunnel he shoveled out to the street so we could get out of the house.

Snow if fun, but with that much on the ground already more on top would make it fun cutting through the ice. First you shovel for hours on end, then once you hit the ice you cut. Still though, it'd be worth the effort. If I lived nearby I'd go diving with you even with this forecast. I wish we had that amount of snow.

We don't have that much snow here, but enough, and I'm getting sick of it despite the fact I ski alot. The worst part of all that snow in Ottawa is you're stuck inside watching the Senators slowly self destruct!!! Go Leafs...next year.

What pulls you folks to that part of the world I'll never understand.
I dated someone who's parents live up by Duluth, MN. We'd go there every year around Christmas time, and man what a scene! Many times, I've had the only car at a gas station, everyone else was on snowmobiles (skis for you that live there). The first time I rode a ski across a frozen lake bed at 70+ mph was probably one of the biggest rushes I've ever had. I think the air temp that day was like 8, and the wind chill was like -10. On a ski at 70, it had to be near -5000.....it was freakin' cold! LOL
And, the lakes don't even thaw off until May????
Nope, not for me. You guys enjoy though!
