Shuttle Launches Early Tues Morn

Launch time is 2:28 am est. She will travel up the eastern US coast. Will be visible from Florida to New Jersey

Isn't that an odd trajectory? I thought it usually went out over the Atlantic Range...

Space Station flies in high elliptical orbit to accommodate the Russians. Shuttle flies at the highest inclination without passing over land to meet these criteria

When I lived in the Florida Panhandle, we used to be able to see shuttle launches on a pretty regular basis...since I live in AZ now I don't get to see them go and I do miss that. The shuttle used to fly over us on its return, nothing like a double sonic boom to wake you up on those early morning landings. Actually, it was pretty cool, the booms would hit and 12 minutes later her wheels would hit the runway.
