My new invention

Damn gas prices are making it tough to enjoy a day on the boat. So far, this idea is working out pretty well. It ain't no speed demon or nothing, but if I can find a diver with a decent SAC rate, I figure it'll get over an hour run time on an HP130. At $5.00 for a fill, that isn't too shabby, because before it cost about $16.00 per hour in fuel. And the best part, no lake pollution (well, maybe a fart and piss here and there, but heck, the fish do that). I've been experimenting with different fin designs, but the good 'ol paddle fins seem to work the best. The splits wouldn't even get it up on plane. My next plan is to go to double 130's, and add a humidifier to the LP reg hose (the divers complain about dry mouth a lot) Yes, it still needs a little refining, but I think I'm on the right track.

Hmmm, how do you steer?

I notice you're not the one in the water...

I hear that high-octane Mexican food will help in those sudden bursts of acceleration.

Why does the "motor" need to have a tank? Shouldn't the top of the "motors" head be where the motor was? The "motor" needs fuel.... water/gatoraide/etc and food... As noted earlier, Mexican food can give boost/carbs/protein...

Possibly need a "exhaust door latch" for wasted fuel.

Also, get some stuff bladed fins. Propulsion is better with them.

Good questions. Actually if the bilge area was left open, the boat would take on water, so it had to be sealed off. I tried onboard tanks with a long hose, but the extra ballast behind the boat really helped it plane out quicker. I think the doubles will be the key there.
I hadn't thought about Mexican food, good idea guys! I've been working on the fuel mix, and high carbs and protein do seem to be the best bet.

You can't see the steering cable in the pic, but it's on the right side, and attaches to the divers tank via a quick disconnect fitting. You don't have to turn the wheel much, just a little nudge in the direction you want to go, and the diver takes it from there.

Heck no I'm not in the water. I'm the captain, not the engine!

That will keep powerboats from wizing over our heads.
