I'd call 911 and help the guy. First, by stopping traffic and then by tending to his injuries.

But, then again, I was a Boy Scout as a kid and am now a Scoutmaster. I just couldn't do anything else, especially nothing.

to be fair, most folks don't know what to do - do you really want some dummy trying to help?

I do not adhere to that rule, it is in my second nature to assist in situations like this. former Boy Scout might be why?

I know most people would look at it and say...."I would have done this/I would have that...etc"

Maybe there's the "shock" factor of seeing someone get hit by a car, and then seeing that car speed away and that freezes people.

that is sad

this write up misses some facts- the car that struck him was chasing another car- who knows what kind of illegal activity was going on there

the really disturbing part are the bystanders who just "looked" and the cars that swerved around him w/o stopping

having lived not far from where this happened I can say that it is considered normal for drivers to do the swerve and pass in the oposit lane that we see 2 cars doing here. I have even seen cops look the other way as it happens, That said I hope they get the guy/gal and throw the book at them and ban them from driving for life. I would definatly stop and call 911.

I would have stopped and called 911, I don't have much medical training so not to much I could do for the poor guy.

Hope they are able to catch the bastard that hit him.

lets not bash all of the bystanders, they may have been calling 911, the average person really could not do more than call 911, but someone should have gone out there (perferably more) to direct traffic and ensure he was not hit again (although then they potentially could have gotten hurt, what is pathetic is how many cars just drove past it, all probably thinking "Someone else must be doing something"
