Artificial Reefs
Here's an interesting article with a couple different perspectives that I'd not yet considered. Makes me stop and think: Environment: The Ecology of Artificial Reefs | Newsweek Project Green | Newsweek.com

Yea, I read that on digg.com too. I somehow don't get it. You would think that structure would be more room to live and breed, and that the more structure, the more life a body of water would support. I cant imagine that this pulls fish away from other areas as much as it does create more places for fish to live and therefore more fish overall.

The article states that the NYTA will save money by "Dumping" the subway cars in the ocean. I don't believe it. By the time that they clean them up for artifical reef use, they will have spent more money than if they sold them for scrap. JM2c
