How many of you are guitar players?

Just curious.

I've been playing for about 12 years now... I think... but you truly can't tell.

Whadduya play?

I've got an Ibanez SZ520 that I play through a tube amp I built (tons of fun! Gonna build some more for a buddy who plays out quite a bit... most recently with Chris Young) through a Bogner 2x12 cab (the absolute best cab I've ever played through... nice woody tone to it... love it!). I've also got a Selmer Treble and Bass MkIII from the late 60s thats nice, but a bit under the weather. I'm still trying to decide whether I want to take it on myself or take it to a guitar tech buddy. We'll see.

On the "to-get" list is a G&L. Probably going to get a legacy, but I may spring for an ASAT or ASAT Special. Not sure just yet. Also I want to get another Echo Pro... had to sell my other one when I got married two years ago and they're finally back down to a decent price. They are absolutely awesome delays. I'm probably also going to start putting a small rack together.

Brandon,

Beatles hit it big in '64; every boy in America wanted an electric guitar and lessons. My Dad bought me a Silvertone, with amp/speaker built into case, and lessons began. I've been in love with guitars ever since!

Mine:
Gibson EBO Bass purchased in 1969 with now lost Fender Bassman amp/speaker
Fender Telecaster and Mark Knopfler model Stratocaster
Martin D28
Fender amplification
Korg effects/drums

Every man should have an electric guitar and wail!

The world may be a more peaceful place. I recall the Dire Straits Brothers in Arms video wherein the guns turn into guitars.....cool!!

Here's a pic of mine a while back. I've actually been on a selling spree because I realized that it was stupid to have so many damned guitars. I'm narrowing it down to the few that I actually love to play. Up until FMIC bought out Jackson/Charvel, I was a huge fan of theirs. I've been playing since I was 12, so that's 33 years (scary!). I toured with a couple of hair metal copy bands back in the early to mid 80's, but finally realized I needed a REAL job!

I still enjoy playing though, and I'll probably never let my fingers get too rusty. Here's a pic of my main influence back in the day, and still my all time favorite guitarist. I can still play about 99% of his stuff. Who remembers this guy? It was a sad sad day when he passed at such a young age.

Heh, I used to pretend to play. I've had a yamaha acoustic for about 8 years but have never done much more than change strings and tune it. One day I'll learn...
