Go online I believe it is nbcolympics.com or something along those lines. You can stream most events unabridged both live and after the fact. It is I belive in full hd as well. It has been great for me and the wife as we like to watch the equestrian events which usually get overlooked and/ or cut short for broadcast.

I have to agree that the coverage sucks. I'm in the central time zone so I don't have to wait for the broadcast. My question is: Who thought it would be great to show the full womens marathon? I have nothing against the event, but it's 2 and a half hours. Once I realized that's all they were showing I TIVO'ed it just in case I missed Phelps and changed the channel. I'm sure the sponsors didn't pay all that money for a commercial spot just to have us get bored and not see their stuff.

Right there with you on the marathon Onstar. I am on the east coast, so i got to see the key events live, but NBC had a choice to do the same all over the country. So I would have seen Phelps at 10:59, on the west coast, 7:59. Not everyone has the internet. They didn't do that for marketing reasons. That is what I am really getting at, this should be more about the athletes and less about the sponsors. The sponsors would get plenty out of these games even if their role was not as influential.

Heck, even the gold medals cost only around 200-300 dollars in materials (they are plated over silver). You'd think NBC could have coughed up the difference to make them solid. I don't think they have been solid in a long time.

Still, Phelps amazes me. Shouldn't be possible to do what he did, especially given how many swims there were in a short period of time.

Coverage? I thought they were just running blocks of commercials. Guess they have to pay the bills somehow.

An entire televised marathon is a bit much. I've RAN two marathons and am training for my third, and I almost get bored RUNNING the race, much less watching someone else run one.

I can't take it anymore with NBC's abuse of their Olympics monopoly.

I started a public email protest here Nabble - NBC Olympics Coverage Is Bad forum - it's a public email so it's better than regular email which they can simply ignore. If a lot of people send them public emails, they will have to do something about it or they are just exposing their problems.

Please help spread the word. If we don't do something now, we will keep getting the same.

Question:

My TV Guide channel and my TIVO guide says that I should be able to see Olympic coverage on NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, and USA.

But I goto USA for a time that they say they have Olympic coverage and I get stuck with old "Law and Order" re-runs.

what gives?

why don't they have better feeds? or is my cable company just being chintzy?

The coverage on the other channels like USA and CNBC I can handle, its the prime time coverage that has been brutal, especially as those of us in the Mountain time zone also have to deal with the tape delayed 'live' coverage. What a joke.
