Haven't seen anything from the folks in Texas or Louisiana since the storm was nearing landfall.

Lake Ponchatrain is flooding on the south shore from the steady south wind we've had for the past 4 days, but nothing beyond that. we've got about 3 feet of water in some areas, but isn't very widespread due to the levees and the storm gates.

I hope they weren't one of the 20,000 stubern Texans that decided to stay.

Family just outside Bryan, Texas (hour and a half from Houston) were on the "clean" side of Ike. They got high winds, but no rain....nada, zip, zero.......and they needed it pretty bad. (Drought area). But, at least they didn't have any structural damage.

Your probably not hearing form a lot of us becasue we have no power. I'm in North east TX and have been without power at my house since Sat afternoon. luckely we have power at work. The schools in this area are shut down for today. Their's not much to do without power except clean up all the branches that fell. Its a really beautiful day and the temp is in the low 70's now. It could be a lot worse. Sure do miss the power.
