For you guitar players... holy cow, effects...

Ok, guys. I just picked up something new that I am absolutely instantly in love with.

Introducing the brand-new Line 6 M13.

Holy cow. This thing honestly sounds like a bunch of great effects pedals sitting in front of your amp. Unlike all the PODs, it does NOT mess with your tone. At all. Truly. And I'm picky.

This thing sounds great! I've not had a chance to go through every single thing just yet, but man, the digital delay w/mods is AWESOME sounding. Very ethereal and just fun to play with. The pitch vibrato is awesome as well. And the freaking TriStereo Chorus... perfect!

The distortions are... ok so far. I think I still need to tweak them. I definitely wish I had more headroom, but thats a definite downfall of digital... there's only so much and you DO NOT want to go beyond the realm of perfect peaks, IE digital clipping! So I can't really goose the preamp on my amp to get exactly what I want, but honestly, this thing and maybe 2 or 3 distortion boxes and I'll be done. Its great!

They took all of the models out of the 4 different Floor Modelers and put them into this box, PLUS a handfull of compressors (which sound quite nice... great for no more than I need), all of the Verbzilla models, plus a few extra models not found in the floor modelers.

I know I sound like a gleaming magazine review, but I'm truly blown away. I had planned on purchasing an Echo Pro (as I've had one before), but no way now. I got this thing for just about the same price I'd pay for an Echo Pro ($420) and I got every model in the Echo Pro, plus all of the other effects! Over 75 in total.

If you'd prefer to get some other opinions, check these two threads out:

HRI :: View topic - LINE 6 M13 PEDAL MODELER

New Line 6 M13? - The Gear Page

They are monstrous threads, and trust me, there's a reason.

Just thought I'd share with you guys. I'm truly floored. I'm lucky that tonight my wife went over to our friend's house to hang and spend the night, so its been me, the M13, and my late 60's Selmer all night. I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep or not!

Anyway, check it out if you're looking for effects. These things make great fly date boards. Not that I do fly dates other than the occasional tech thing, but you know.

And honestly, thats goldfish and Sprite.

Brandon

WOW. Cool! Thanks for the review! Also, I forgot to respond to your questions about the stuff on my band's myspace page. That is a Line 6 POD X3 that I'm playing through with my Schecter Tempest Custom. The bluesy solo on the one song is with the WAH half cocked. That gave it a really cool sound. Happy playing!

Awesome, moosicman. I was wondering. Sounded great!

Slvr: Do you know how long I had to save up to get the Mesa cab I sold to buy the Bogner? Many years, my friend, many years.

I've got a DIY 808... but a brown-out killed it. I loved that tube screamer too! Oh well...
