Its the end of the world as we know it.......

Hello all,

I've been hiding for a while now and decided this was as good a time as any to make my not-so-grand re-entry. As of a few months ago my wife has become pregnant (with twins) so things around here have been a little hectic but due to a schedule change at work I should have some more free time (at least until they come along) so you can all look forward to (or cringe in fear of) seeing more of me again.

Congrats on your anticipated twins!

Quick run out and buy *sympathy doubles* That way, while she is carrying two in her belly you can carry two on your back!

Congradulations. You have chosen your ball & chain. From a long time ball & chain man I'll tell you my opinion.

Child #1 = Lifes Easy and racquetball & other sports are a go, #2 = Your & Wife's Hands are Full-Extra time is few. #3 = Your coming home, no escaping. #4 = about the same. #5 = it gets much harder again and consider a larger vehicle. #6 = about the same or maybe I've become numb to unusual events, also the kids have gotten older and started playing with each other & helping with the entertainment. #7 = about the same and suddenly seeing 7 kids jump out of a van doesn't seem that unusual.........3 in college now so i just downsized to only 1 van & 1 economy hatchback vehicle.

No incredible wealth.... Economy. The next child often had the repaired bike.

7 kids! Holy moley! Did you figure out where they were coming from? Big families are terrific, I am in awe of people who make it work in this day and age. In the absence of incredible wealth (which you may have) it makes most people look like pansies in the parenting deparment!

One grandmother was one of 13. But they were on a farm, so it worked and probably even helped.

Think of all of your future dive buddies!

It helps to be able to repair bicycles, mopeds, & read repair manuals/diagrams (especially to keep the carburetors cleaned out on the boat engine). Call me sometime and you'll probably catch me tinkering with something, if not working.

1 is scuba certified and dives and freedives more than I (he went out yesterday and left the house when it was raining to go freediving while I was going to work) . It's about 50% of the kids wanting to go freediving for lobster when given the opportunity.

Hey now THAT'S a good idea.
But you'll have to time the purchase with one of her hormonal up-swings. Do NOT catch the down-swing. Best way to handle this, is order from ScubaToys when she is out of earshot. When package arrives, hide it in the trunk of the car (she never goes there, right? It's YOUR job to empty the groceries from there, etc). Then, await the up-swing. During those few precious seconds,...quick...run out to the car, grab the package, bring it in.

This just might work. I'm speaking as a man with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE, because I don't have kids. Tell me how this works out for you.

Hey Zyx welcome back & congradulations. Only 2 kids here (not twins ), and they are both in their early twenties. And you know what, they seem to be as much work now as when they lived here. And my son seems to think nobody goes to bed before midnight, so it's ok to call anytime. Anyway, keep your sense of hurmor, and you'll be fine.
