Have you received good service lately???

I became confused when I heard these terms with reference to the word "service."

Internal Revenue "Service"

U.S. Postal "Service"

Telephone "Service"

Cable "Service"

Civil "Service"

Customer "Service"

State, City & County Public "Service"

Government "Service"

This is not what I thought "service" meant.

But today, I overheard two ranchers talking, and one of them said he had to take his bull over to "SERVICE" a few cows.

BAM!!!

It all cam into focus. Now I understand what all those "SERVICE" agencies are doing to us.

I hope you are now as enlightened as I am.

Agreed, for the most part, service has gone to hell in a handbasket. Last night, I was at Barnes and Noble trying to buy that Paul McCartney is the fireman CD for my bro. I had forgotten the title. Not only did the young lady who "helped me" tell me that I was wrong and that there was no such a thing, but she insisted that nowhere in their store did they have internet access, even for employees, so that the title could be checked. In a business open in 2009, sure, I'm going to believe you. I talked to the manager, she popped into her office, found the title, and discovered that Barnes and Noble had not filed it under the artist's name. Normally, I would have walked out and taken my business elsewhere, but I am too busy right now to revisit the purchase on another day. I will however, buy it online or buy the MP3 files for it next time. PITA.

ST does a great job with customer service, almost too much kindness for this middle child to accept. I am used to having to put on my secret coglioni to take on these issues and I hate it when I have to do that. I had some issues with some stuff on my recent trip. Nothing insurmountable, but issues nonetheless. Some of it might be my problem, some of it clearly the manufacturers, some of it might be STs. I was all worried about it and not looking forward to the complicated battle I thought I'd have to wage. I pm'ed the fellows at ST and was told to send it all in and that they would deal with all of the above. Everything is at ST as we speak and I have been assured that it will all be made right. I believe them and can relax. That's service of the right kind.

IRS one is particularly funny. I think their service is more like a cluster....

Unless you are looking for a nomination, and then they are ignorable.

Difficult to know how intentional that was. People with big $$$ tend to trust that their paid preparers know what they are doing. Those errors happen all of the time. At the end of the day, we can trust whomever we want to, that doesn't make us less responsible.

Daschle has done some pretty progressive and intelligent things with healthcare legislation in his career, I for one am a fan.

Wouldn't have had a issue with him progressing if he owned his mistake.
