Your Most Recent Tech. Purchase For Fun???

Recent tech. purchase for fun: AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid Volar Max MTVHBVMXR USB 2.0 Interface . (any brand usually $70 to $50 just make sure you get the coaxial rear connection as it's more durable)
Why? It picks up digital TV from the laptop/netbook/desktop via usb port.
Options? It can be switched to laptop, desktops, etc. just download program from website and plug in adapter.
Functions: Also can record radio songs live to computer.etc.

A FUN little gadget, I do not see the need for but one large tv in the house & use any computer or multiple computer for the other peoples viewing at least in the future computers will all be dual purpose. Great while traveling to dive site, in boat/car if protected and netbook/laptop available. Still new & pretty impressive to walk around with digital tv playing on a 2.3lb netbook.

P.S. college kid's should avoid, it's too addicting.

What new toy has impressed you, Post here, so we can give it a try too.....

I used to be into all the high tech stuff, now I like it simple and low key. I can't even remember the last piece of tech gear that I fell in love with. I would say my Divco Tivx box attached to my TV is pretty nice... oh wait... the popcorn machine I got for Christmas. Not really high tech but I LOVE that thing.

So, I use it for taking weather measurements for ecological field research, but my Kestrel 4000 is sure a fun toy to play with... If I need another I'll upgrade to their newest though, the 4500.

Just got the wife a new Mac Book 4 gig Ram, Core Duo processor 250 gig HD. Now if only it worked when Apple sent it to.......
OTOH they are supposed to email me an RA# and Fed Ex shipping label so that when Fed Ex posts the return tracking # they will send the new on out..... Does that HD adapter work with apple????

My wife reminded me that my 28" LCD monitor hooked to my computer that she can't peel me away from should top my list. Hanns G which can be picked up at New Egg on sale for $300 under the right circumstances. Most of my friends have since bought one as well.
