Cat-sitting video

You know those cat-sitting DVDs they sell for kitties, the ones that feature footage of birds and mice and little critters? (They have dog ones, too.) Some animals truly like them. I'm going to try playing a DVD of undersea footage to see whether my cats respond...will let you know how it goes!

Oh, I know! But I have to parcel that game out carefully...our cats love it so much that they get obsessed and wake me up at 3 AM and then I have to take out a restraining order against them!

My dogs do not even know the tv exists. But the cat does watch the motion on the screen.

Her favorite activity, however, is pouncing on my laptop monitor as i move the mouse around.

hours of fun. Until I want to actually get work done.

I think a cat would make an excellent toy to keep my dogs entertained while I was away. I know the possum the big one brought into the house a couple years ago and the squirrel that she grabbed last year certainly were interesting distractions for her.

One of my cats--an indoor cat, mind you--recently pranced into the room with a chipmunk in her mouth. She was the happiest kitty I'd ever seen.

You need more than just the lazer pointer for a quality evening, don't forget the 12 pack of beer.
