Searching on forums is usually a PITA. I go to google & do an advanced search, and then in the field "Search within a site or domain". Just type in forum.scubatoys.com.

I hope this makes sense.

So far I haven't found facebook groups to promote discussion very well. Maybe it's just the groups I've seen though . . .

I'm wondering if I should join Facebook now. I hear a lot of people talk about it but I'm old and slow to adopt new technologies. Cuz Oprah keeps talking about it, I got Skype. Found a friend and tried to call him but he didn't answer.

Scariest thing is what I do for a living... QA Software Developer (26+ years).

So what will Facebook give me? Other than ways to waste time.

it seems to mainly be nothing but a waster of time, but that's okay. just remember if you do join that you don't have to fill in all that stuff about your phone number and address, etc. also, you might want to keep your profile set to private, so that only your friends can view it. helps keep down the creepy stalkey:real people ratio.

I'm with you. I don't know what the age thing has to do with it though. My kids still call me for computer support. I have a buddy who just signed up, and wanted me to do it also. I told him I already have enough things to waste my time. I don't need another. Besides that, his only "Friends" so far are his daughter and son. He told me it was a way to keep in touch. I told him both of his kids have cell phones . . . . . THAT HE PAYS FOR!!! If he wants to keep in touch, just call them.

Facebook has put me in touch with old High School buddies and friends that I had lost contact with over the years.

It's worth joining just to find old acquaintances.
