Conversations between dives....

Okay, under duress from friends and family, I am telling this story.

This past weekend my hubby and I went to Oronogo for some diving and meeting up with friends on ST. For those who do not know there is one way down to the quarry and it is a steep hill. I hurt my ankle about a month ago, so it takes me a little longer to get down the hill. While my husband was still getting ready, I decided to go on down the hill. At the bottom of the hill there are tables to place your equipment of which I decided to lean up against one and wait for my husband. Keep in mind, I am still new to diving and have a few pieces of equipment that I have been able to acquire and one is a purple tank. I like my tank and do not care about the opinions of others in regards to my purple tank. I am sure most of you know that at the watering hole you can become almost invisible and easily hear other conversations unintentionally. One such conversation I accidently overheard went something like this....
Guy 1: "You see that purple tank?"
Guy 2: "Yeah. What about it?"
Guy 1: "She is going to die."
Guy 2: "Why?"
Guy 1: "Because she has a purple tank."
Me: I looked right at him and said "Well 100% of humanity dies at some point."
Guy 1 just began laughing and said "That is the best response he has ever heard."

So what good stories do you have waiting between dives?

I'll have to think on a good story, but I have to say that I too have a purple tank ... bought it BECAUSE it was purple... I guess there are haters all over

When I actually own a tank, I am putting a picture of midgardsormer on it. Is there a thread for how to do that? This site's search engine doesn't work. Anyway, this isn't dive related, but here it is:

Me and my friends were in McDonalds eating and saying some very rude things. This old lady started watching us, so I said quietly to my friend:
Me: I think that old lady is spying on us.
And the old lady jumps out of her chair, stomps over and yells:
Her: How dare you accuse me of eavesdropping! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

I wonder how she heard me say that... :P

Your whisper carries.
You should be ashamed saying rude things in front of old ladies.

Rule #1: If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong.
Rule #2: If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying (If you get caught, you didn't try hard enough.)
Rule #3: In most cases it's easier to be forgiveness than ask for permsiion. (The trick is to which is which.)

What's rule #6?

No need for 6 'cause I'm thinking the 3 rules you cited have it covered, Navy!

Some people should really think about what they say out loud... Me personally would have had a little conversation about it. I would have simple said "Why would you say that or even think that."

Some people really don't think before they act. I might tease someone over the color and or brand of equipment but would never say you gonna die because you dive that color.

But it was nice to meet you Blaze, maybe next time I'll get a dive in with you.
