D-DAY

On this 65th anniversary of D-DAY I've noticed that Google has for their commemorative logo a tribute to the 25th anniversary of TETRIS. Are these people insane, or they dumb beyond belief not realizing the significance of what day it is. Sh!t like this makes me sick. I am ashamed that fellow Americans can be so insensitive.

And this surprises you how?

Thanks to all that fought and lost their life on the beaches of Normandy and in all the theaters of World War II. You truly are the "Greatest Generation".

It doesn't really surprise me, but it still makes me ill.

My thanks to all veterans of WWII who gave their all for freedom, as time goes on I think most people lose sight of the importance of their efforts and accomplishments.

Amen to that! I have always maintained that Superman has nothing on those "Men of Steel!"

There should be more to remember and honor WWII vets especially since there is getting to few and few every year.

Amen! Each year we make a point to get as many WW-II and Korean War veterans at our Veteran's Day events as possible. And we work hard to capture their stories for the Veterans History Project (Library of Congress)

I like to listen to vet's stories, even when they begin to ramble. People show me the same respect, I should show them double that!

I have been very fortunate on some of my Flights to Palau to sit next to and around former Marine Generals who were battalion commanders in Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima etc and listen to their stories. One one the highlights of going to Palau in early March is that they have a reunion of some of the Army and Marine vets who hit the beaches of Peleliu....humbling experience.

All those men enabled us to be doing what we are doing today!

Just adding my thanks to all that served then, and to all that serve now.
