Scuba Toys and the bank

My bank has a feature similar to Quicken where it will aggregate your purchases each month and provide a spending summary and budgets. It automatically classifies each transaction based on where it thinks the transaction should go unless you tell it otherwise.

I just looked at my latest purchase from Scuba Toys, my first with this bank since I recently switched backs and it had it classified child/dependent care expenses. I guess it saw toys and automatically though children. I wonder if it would have done the same thing for an adult toy store?

Seems reasonable - I think of my scuba gear as a junior member of the family (somewhere between the cat and the surfboard in rank), and it seems to almost cost as much as raising a child...

You should make it easier on your bank, and just have your salary sent straight to Scuba Toys. Better value that way!

Well, according to my wife I'm still a child, so I guess that means my scuba purchases could qualify as "toys".

I've got it classified as meidcal expenses. Very theraputic and keeps me sane!

I could see that since it could be classified as life support equipment. Prevents hypothermia and asphyxiation.
