I'm watching the episode where he is on a tropical island. Just a few things i noticed was he was talking to his crew with his mask on top of his head. after he got on the beach he threw his regulator down in the sand with no dust cap on the 1st stage. I have herd people talk about seeng mistakes with people diving on tv. I guess that wasn't major screw ups but i just happened to notice. then he ate the breast of a booby

I wonder which Pacific Island he was doing the segment on...he was really worried about stonefish. And rats getting into his fresh water collector...who'd of thunk it? I saw him do a similar show on an island and he built a raft and got picked up by a tanker.

At the begining he said he wasn't far from an island with people on it. They played several episodes today on the science channel. I would love to learn about an area like that then get dropped off for a week or two to survive.

Unless the show has changed, he doesn't have a crew. It's just him and a couple of cameras he stages. What really sucks is that in those shots where he walk away from the camera and goes a long ways, he has to come back to get the camera and make that walk again.

Wrong! He keeps radio contact with his producer and a medical staff with in 10 minutes away. Same with Man vs Wild

I don't buy it....there is no way this guy sets up a camera to shoot him walking away in a snow blizzard or canoeing down a river, stop turn around and go get the camera.

My opinion, there is a camara crew there.

I can never keep the two straight based on the show titles. les stroud films without a crew and is pretty much SOL if something goes wrong, bear grylls films with a crew and got busted for sleeping in hotels and stuff a few years ago.

Both of them are in close proximety to their help. No matter what they say on the tube. But ye,s I recall the episdoe with the pacific island where Bear can't wait ot get the gear off. I cringed when the reg hit the sand.

I just remember that the shoes are for entertainment purposes only and if some one uses those shows as the basis for surviving in the wilds, they are in serious trouble. Nothing beats good old training.

Bear drives me up a wall...watched the show a couple of times and gave up...he makes stuff so much more "dangerous" than it really is. I'm pretty sure he could make walking down the hall in my house sound dangerous.
