With layoffs, I will be spending a couple hours a day in the field, so the company provided me with a new phone. lap top and a chit for new steel toe boots. Went into the local Western supply store and got the boots.
I also scored a Bon Jovi Shady Brady hat for ~$50.00.

.... only 3 more weeks till Cozumel!!! (in fact 3 weeks from right now I should be taking my afternoon siesta after a couple of great morning dives and a great Mexican lunch!!)

Watched the HD broadcast of Turandot from the Metropolitan Opera today. Puccini's last opera. I've been to his house, btw. For those of you who know the story, you may wonder why THAT story would make me happy. Tragedies can sometimes parallel and validate our lives. This one also explains a few things about men that I didn't know before (just WHAT were you thinking Calaf?), and it was beautiful on all levels.

No .... last trip to Coz was in MARCH! And we've been dry since the not-so-great-weather trip to the Keys in July. I sooooo need some dive time to regain my sanity!!!

Well my first trip to Cali and the Pacific was great! Had a lot of fun on the long drive from Las Vegas to San Diego. Along were the professional diver that I bought my tanks from, paintsnow, a young lady named Ann, and a police officer named Gary, our driver, navigator not so much.
Went to Mission Beach to meet the LoisAnn. Mission Beach was great, just the divey, gritty, humanistic, eccentric kind of place I love. Got to get in the Pacific, mark off minor bucket list. Weather, absolute perfection, seas of glass, georgeous night.
As for diving, first dive, not nearly enough weight, couldn't go down. By the time I got ready to go back, the second DM was back up with instabuddy, vis was non-existent. So no good lobsters out of the 3 or 4 gotten.
By the second dive, had been up since 3am, by the time I got in the water was exhausted, and same dam mask problem, flooding at 30 ft. So that ended my Pacific dives for this trip.
Everything was so cool, Anna the DM and JR the captain are great, nice too hot soup is so good when you're cold. Great folks and very nice. Did I mention on a boat that holds 20, there were 9 of us. I'll dive the LoisAnn any chance I can get, and highly recommend them.
It was a beautiful trip, a great time. First time on a boat out in the ocean, and it was awesome. If I sound like a kid, " Daddy took us on a big boat! And we went out in the ocean! It was great!", yeah, that's exactly the idea. I felt just like a little kid at Christmas!

Come on down to NC then inventor. Our dives are 2 hours offshore, not for the weak of stomach, but the diving is fun. Never been on a boat in the ocean, eh? Wow, the ocean is magic to me. For what it is worth, I have never been to Nevada, it doesn't have an ocean, a problem for me.
