Yep, I remember lining up with my brothers and sister as a kid and getting a whole host of shots. Dad was military and we were being transferred to England.

If you are an immigrant you have the scar because they give it to everyone coming into Canada. If you were born in Canada they don't give the vaccine.

My wife saw my scar and said, "I thought you were born in Canada." I'm ten years older than her. Seems they stopped giving the vaccine shortly after I received it. So all her friends born in Canada don't have the 'immigrant mark'.

yeah, us old farts all have that circle of doom on our arm. Used to be a standard shot, we didn't complain about it, just something everyone got. Mine used to be the size of a dime but has shrunk over the years.

I have so many, I can't distinguish between them now. I grew up as an Army Brat. Two tours as a dependent in Japan, one in Europe. Then I got more when I was on active duty. One tour in Japan again, and another in Viet Nam. I've also been vaccinated against tetnus, typhoid, typhus, plague, hepatitus, polio, cholera and a bunch of other diseases that I don't even remember any more.

When I was in the military, I received more shots than I thought were even possible. And they had these fancy air guns (vs. needle) they used to inject. No scars though...not from shots anyway.

I have a vaccination scar on my upper arm. A few months ago it started getting itchy. Had the doc look at it and being in Australia, thought it wise to get it checked for skin cancer. A punch biopsy proved clear, so now I have a scar in a scar...
