I agree. Logistical, not technical.
GSM is used by the rest of the world. One design, and it works everywhere. US=AT&T only, but everywhere else, no problem. (Well, except maybe Japan, which is a unique case).
CDMA as used by Verizon would work on Verizon and Verizon ONLY. Apples not really into customizing things for just one vendor when, as-is, they already have access to somthing like 90% (+?) of the world market.
Apple actually came to Verizon first with the iPhone, but since Verizon likes to control their phones content just as much as Apple does, they couldn't reach an agreement and Verizon passed. Then they went on to AT&T who allowed them to control the phone's software as they saw fit. It has been also noted that Apple's website had job posting for CDMA developers, which some say were for the tablet computer that apple was releasing but as we can see, it is only available in 3G. So that leaves us to wonder what the plans of the iPhone are. AT&T exclusivity deal is up this year.

I work in the market, so I don't pay too much attention to what Jim Kramer says on his show, but he is touting the IPAD and the biggest tech gadget to the hit market ever...He also has a large following so who knows. I am a Mac guy, but not much of gadget guy...just like the quality and performance of their products...BR
This will answer a lot questions:
The iPad: What you need to know | Mobile Mac | Macworld
Some of the highlights:
Notice it not locked on AT&T service.
If you by the 3G model you can still use it even if you don't have the service.
It cost either 15 for 250 meg or 30 unlimted data but is paid monthly without a contract. Months will be purchase from online or at the AT&T store.
As of now you can download pictures and videos from your camera and place them albums and etc but you can not edit them.

These android tables look promising especially since android will be supporting Flash in the near future:
Archos Android Tablet Official
MSI Android Tablet Coming 2nd Half Of 2010 | Android Phone Fans
I think both of these will be priced around the same as the iTampon... err iPad.

Here is the status of Apple and Flash...
Given Apple’s low regard for Flash—two years ago, Steve Jobs was openly dismissive of Adobe’s offering at an Apple shareholders’ meeting—we wouldn’t expect that to change. Adobe says that apps produced with its upcoming Packager for iPhone development tool, which lets developers convert Flash programs into iPhone apps, will run on the iPad, though they won't initially be able to take advantage of the iPad's larger screen size. That won’t necessarily impact Websites with embedded Flash, but it’s something.

That's so crappy. One of the main reasons people want flash on the ipod/ipad is so that they can stream media from websites. Maybe they'll come out with an app similar to youtube that will allow for this, but its still crappy to have to close Safari and open a different app just to watch a video hosted on a specific website. Just give us flash damnit!
