Watches, anyone else hard on them?

I either must be hard on watches or having something in my body that makes them screw up or just quit. I am getting ready to send back a watch that I have had for just 6 weeks. The crystal fogs up parts of the day and the back light quit after two days. This is my 4th watch this year. And not they are not cheap watches either. The current one is a Freestyle Hammerhead.

Wow! That is a pretty impressive record.

I normally am pretty hard on them but once I quit the climbing the wear & tear has gone down dramatically.

Have you considered what you do that is doing so much damage? Work? Sports? Mud Wrestling? and maybe wearing a cheap-o watch for those times?

I buy Timex watches and they hold up well. Mine usually break with a sharp crack or pop and the crystal splits across the face when I am at 100'. I always get the IRONMAN, it is good to 200m, or at least that is what is printed on the back. They are not meant for diving but I usually get several years out of them before they can't handle the pressure anymore and pop.

I am going to have to get a cheapo watch till this one gets sent off and a new one sent, that is going to take about a month. I have worn Timex watches for years, but have gone through three of them so far and now the Hammerhead is Tango Uniform. I wear them mostly at work, do not do anything hard on em, maybe Timex is getting bad, they probably have 7 year olds in some third world country making em.

Buy yourself a Rolex Sea-Dweller. It is rated to 1220m and is indestructible. I have knocked mine on rocks, bashed it around and it still looks brand new after 7 years

ROFLMAO yeah ok, I am a Paramedic, which means I do not get paid very much. I do not have 1-2k to spend on a watch. Besides I really do not like those metal bands on most watches.

Two watches

I use two watches after banging things up and not wanting to spend huge dollars on a watch.

I usually wear a pulsar pilot's watch for my day to day. Looks good with a suit and is functional (and good to 100M).

When I'm doing anything that would be "out of office" I switch to my $13 drug store digital special. It has outlasted every "nice" watch I've had and is good to 330M (and has been down quite a bit). The only problem I've had with it, bug spray - took the plastic dip right off - but still works great after three years of abuse.

I personally have a problem with watches...they won't keep time if I wear them. They are fine until I put them on.

I have Timex Ironman and love it. It has a tough rubber strap and has shock resistant written all over it. The best part is that it was a wal-mart special. It cost about $25. It is very easy to use and has buttons you can opperate with gloves on. One button even glows in the dark.
