A button buck that explains it. Deer this age particularly male deer it seems are none too bright. They mature a bit after a year. I wonder where he thought he was going?

Cool photos and story. Glad someone found him before he ended up becoming a meal or drowning from exhaustion.

I am glad he was rescued...I am just now getting used to seeing them on the side of the road here...so seeing one in the water is really weird for me.

Is it just me, or does the water seem much flatter when the deer is in the boat? Not calling BS on this, just curious.

I'm guessing the pictures of the deer in the boat were closer to shore? I'm sure pictures were the last thing on their minds OTW to shore... but once there, what the heck

Me either but we have pets(deer) and if they get in something weird they go BALLISTIC also and this one is pretty calm even if it is tired. they are so terrified of OUR habitat they run like crazy and fight and paw. Our pet Doe came in my house (i accidentally left the door open and when she felt the slick tile beneath her feet....she FREAKED! (put that on my list of things to NOT do again) I am curious as well....
