Exclamation Fixing the Ocean?

Check THIS out! Interesting idea but I'm not sure it is necessarily a good one.

I think its a bad idea. Let's also look at how much carbon will be released in the process of mining, preparing, and delivering this massive quantity of iron. Could the resulting planton bloom absorb that much more? It's kind of like the eco-bunnies that go out and lease a Preus. It is true that they are burning less fossil fuels. But what about the energy used to manufacture the batteries, Recharge the batteries, and don't forget disposal of the batteries after one year. I digress. Back to the ocean fertilization: Dumping large amounts of anything in the ocean does not sound like good science. We are way too dependant on this big blue rock, that we live on, to be messing around trying to control it. IMHO

This is just another pile of you know what. They do this in the middle of the ocean with the best of intentions, the algae gets into ships holds and deposited in sensitive areas, blooms again, kills massive amounts of fish and coral....
