I don't read the books myself, but my wife has locked herself in our
room today! I've read that the last book ties up a lot of loose ends
and that people seem generally happy with the end of the series. Any
thoughts? Just don't post any spoilers!!!!

Did she stand in the long lines overnight to get the book?

I don't read Harry Potter, mainly because it's so popular and I cannot stand to discuss books with people who just read them because they are popular. Pretty much if anything is popular, I try to do something diffrent, I'm a rebel.

I do read fantasy/fiction kind of books though, my favorite series of all time is the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I am almost done with the series, I need to get to the library though to get the last one. I was borrowing them from a friend, but she cannot find the last few, so I've been goin gto the library.

And unlike your wife, I really do like to read books slowly. I read as the fancy strikes me. Usually, an hour or two one day, then an hour or two a few days later. I also read multiple books at a time, sometimes three or four, all of them at different places around the house.....

Favorite book of all time: Catch 22. I'm very glad it's not popular, becuase then I'd have to break my personal rule and read it anyways

And for the record, if the last Dark Tower book was coming out, I really would struggle....I probably would want to stand in line for it. So I understand.

Dark Tower was a great series. I was 1/2 way through the last book when my wife blurted out the ending to me . Still haven't finished it. I'm still bitter about it.

<DIV>I'll read the last HP book just to finish the series. The books are alright, but I'm not a huge fan. I'd like to read the book before people start ruining it though. </DIV>

May be in the US but on the old continent this is very popular book. I love it! I would add also The Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy, and anything written by P.G. Woodhouse.

Hairy Potter is not my cup of tea!

I would never share a bed with her again. That's unforgiveably cruel. It's bad enough in movies, but it's completely wrong with books.

I really don't want to finish it, because then my time with Roland and his ka-tet would be over, and I don't want it to end.

And yes, Catch22 is decently popular, but none of my friends have read it, very few people reference it...I tried to quote it in every English paper I've read it 8-10 times, I love it. I'd be reading it now, but the person who I borrow the DT books from borrowed it....

Malls are far more popular Only one other kid in my school dived....and it was a small school of less than 300 students. Most of my friends go to see movies fairly often. I usually pike out, explaining I'd rather use it to buy an hour underwater

I have made a bit of a hiatus today from the board because I have either been working on the dive gear-up table we are making or had my nose stuck in the book! Something for diving is just about the only thing that could keep me out of the book right now. As a matter of fact i should go try to get in another chapter before bed...
