Recommend a 2008 Dive Calendar

Today, I flipped to the final page in my 2007 calendar. I'd like to find a nice 2008 calendar with great dive pictures. But, I don't want the same-ole same-ole tropical shots. I'd like to see a calendar with divers in dry suits hitting caves, wrecks, ice, etc. Can you recommend one for me? Show me what you've got!

I wonder if ST puts out a dive calender? They could even put some coupons for gear inside. Maybe this will give Joe and Larry an idea.

Do you have photos of your own? If so, you can make your own calender. www.vistaprint.com
you can buy one or more OR get one free through their special offer. BUT, the free one will cost you anywhere from $10 to about $20. I got two, one for me, one for my son. I used different paper and I paid around $15 for one and $20 for the other if I remember correctly. (oh, both of these were the "free" ones. I paid for photo uploads, paper upgrades and postage.)
But, I have my own photos including some shots of us both on the boat and in the water.
Counting the cover, you can input 13 photos. The calender is spiral bound and measures 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches.

I've considered making my own calendar. I'm sure I've got a couple of pics I could use. The problem is that I'd like to see pics that stir my imagination. Most of the shots coming out of my camera stir the silt & thats about it......eh..it's late. What do you expect?

It's like calendars about airplanes. I don't want a calendar full of my experiences...a balding passenger eating peanuts in the middle seat of a 737. I want to see pictures fighter jets rocketing across the edge of space, doing barrel rolls. Essentially, the cool stuff I'm to...uh, responsbile..to do. Caves, deep dark wreck penetration, ice...etc.

Larry will probably view this as a subversive post, but the Zendiving.com scuba board runs a yearly contest. People submit photos and the users vote. The top thirteen or so pictures are published on a calender (twelve monthes plus a cover).

Also the CoCoView resort on Roatan publishes a calendar of pictures taken at the Roatan dive sites. They donate the proceeds of calendar sales to the schools on the island. The lady who moderates the CoCoNuts forum (a sub forum of the CoCoView web page) (Kate Brandt- K8 (?) is her board name I think) will give you all the details and point you in the right direction. They also have sample photos from old calendars to give you some idea of what to expect.

I made our own calendar from all the great shots my husband took on our 2-week liveaboard trip this summer. I did it through Shutterfly.

Good to know - thanks. I didn't know about those sites before your post. I may use that as a back up if Richie Kohler & John Chatterton don't publish a calendar. I just found these pictures on their Dive Portal web site. That is more along the lines of what I'd like to see.

that roatan calendar sounds fantastic...thanks for sharing that info!

i also made my own from the 12 *best* shots I could find for my father's christmas gift (not-so-subliminal messaging to get him into the shop and certified)...it really didn't look so bad. plus, at snapfish.com you can add photos on particular days as well...it was fun to put a little creativity into it!

I've found 2 potential candidates:

AquaPress 2008 Wreck Diving Calendar
Scott Boyd's 2008 Cave Diving Calendar

I like the cover of the wreck calendar, but I'd like to see the rest of the inside shots. The cave one is cool, too. Maybe I'll get one for home and one for the office. I'd also like to see at least one Ice Diving calendar
I'm still open to more suggestions...
