Gave my two week notice today!

just one step closer... This way I'll have a little over a week to pack and everything before we move, December 27...

for those that haven't read my other thread(s),my wife and I are moving to San Antonio to live with her parents for 7-8 months to save up some money...

to do what, you ask... to move to Utila, Honduras fall of next year, to get our DM and Instructor certs... then, we'll live off the pennies we make and our savings for as long as we want to in the area, the caribbean, and/or pretty much wherever we want...

so... it's coming... and I'm getting excited!!!

Sweet! I am having some thoughts on doing the ex-pat once my youngest is through school. So... I have at least 7 more years of lake diving in my future. Good luck to both of you!

thats why we are doing it now... we are both in our 20's, no kids, we rent our house, both cars are paid for, no excessive credit card debt, so on and so forth...

Sounds like you are following your dream... take it as far as you can. Maybe someday we will be coming down to dive with you as an op.

I never dove Utila, but from what I see on google earth, it looks nice. are most of the dives shore? looks like the reefs are fairly close in.

good luck and have fun--as a 20-something ex-pat, i can say that it truly is refreshing (even with the occasional yearn for a target store)....life will really slow down and you're guaranteed to see (actually stop and reflect on) the most beautiful sunsets you've ever seen! i just wish i had more than 5 months left in my stint outside the US!!!!!
