Something New at ScubaToys Site

I've been working on something new.. Kinda' cool (if I do say so myself). Check out going to the Manta: Aeris Manta Dive Computer, Computers: Nitrox, Aeris, Aeris Manta Dive Computer then click on the 360 view icon.

I've got about 6 of them out there now... but finally have the system down and will put out about 20 a day until I get most the products out there.

Let me know if anyone has a problem with their browser (and let me know what kind - which operating system, etc...) and let me know if you think it's a benefit.. or a huge waste of my time!

Thanks!

I can see where that might be handy on some items.

Worked OK on Winders Vista & IE7

Cool Larry. Worked great for me. Using IE7 on windows XP.

It could be a great benefit with alot of the items, maybe not so much on others. Guess it will be up to you to decide if it is important enough to show every angle for it to be worth your time. Such as a book. You could take two pics, one of the front and one of the back. Show both and you are done. No need to spend a lot of time showing the book in 360 unless you just really wanted to. For other items I think it would be of some great benefit, such as the BCD's which have pockets, gadgets and such all over the item. A 360 view there would be very beneficial.

Hey, I like that 360 degrees feature so I can see every details of the watch. I would like to see that kind of features for all products - surely, that's a lot of work!

what software are you using to make that?

Worked just fine for me on Mac OS X + Safari --auto spin is a bit fast though!

Very cool ... the auto spin was fast, but once I figured out the mouse spin option, I could really look at and focus the different parts at my own speed. I agree that on somethings there's be no point, but lots of detailed items, it could be very helpful.

Could be really handy on a lot of items such as BC's, regs, masks, watches, etc that are unique and where someone might be interested in seeing the back side of the oobject. Might not be worth the effort to show something like a book or items that are all the same basic design.

it wasn't obvious to me at first I was supposed to move the mouse over the move mouse box, and not over the image which is what I'm used to seeing.

It all depends on the item what is useful. I actually can't think of too many pieces of scuba gear where I care about different angles, I pretty much know what it is. I mean, the back of a hood isn't terribly interesting unless it has horns or something. For BCs it would be good. For booties it might be good, but to rotate so it showed the bottom/tread. For some things I'd like measurements - like I often see things like pockets shown on various sites and often can't tell how big they are, but your site seems to be pretty good about that. And for many things larger pictures to see more details is a good thing. Especially when so many things are mostly black. (Just love those sites where it says "click for larger view", and it pops up a window with the same size image!)
