Replacement PADI Cert Card

I was able to use the PADI website and easily re-order my cert card online. I uploaded a picture, paid $30 via online credit card and the nice plastic printed card came 5 days later.

Very easy and quick with a much newer pictures!!

After I finally lost my original, I reordered the new one that's a waterproof tag - kind of like the DAN tag - and I just keep attached to my dive bag. Apparently there aren't that many out there yet, as the dive shops always have to really look it over as they haven't seen them before ....

I saw those.. looked really cool, but I did not spend the extra $10... my brother spent the extra $5 to support the turtles and when he got his card in the mail he liked mine better... I got the plain coral reef with fish.

Is your card a hard plastic as well?? Just in one of those neato holders? How durable is it?

Yeah ... it's a pretty hard plastic shell - I figure it would be fairly difficult to damage ... I decided to splurge when Iwas replacing the lost cards since it allowed me to link my AOW & Nitrox together on one tag ...

Seems like the new way is pretty easy.

Better still, if you happen to have a PADI EANx cert, they can issue you a combo card that indicates you are Nitrox certified as well. Two cards in one, one less card to carry around!

I'm not too happy with padi and my local dive shop right now. My son got his open water cert done back in sept and either the dive shop or the us postal system lost his C card. Padi states they sent it to the dive shop. The dive shop told me that they recieved it from padi and mailed it but we never recieved it. They told me that I would have to pay them $35 for a replacement. They said that they mailed it so its now my responsibility to pay for a replacement, which is a load of bull.

Doesn't sound like your LDS is interested in any more of your business.

That liability seems pretty clearly with the LDS, not PADI. They sent it appropriately, and it was received. The LDS is the one who had it last.
