I'm sad actually. He's not getting any love as champion as evidenced by his last pay check and now he's got the doping allegations over him. As a fighter, he's tough as nails. Even though he didn't finish Kenny Florian last year he completely dominated him on the ground. Same can be said about his fight against Franca, who was also busted for doping. I expected both to be able to stand with him a bit more, but Sherk can wrestle and he did a hell of a job with Franca, who with a BJJ black belt, you'd think would have the better ground game. He was able to pass Franca's guard at will and ended up mounting him a few times during the fight. Unfortunately, he's developing a rep of not finishing fights and that's not going to help the bottom line. As for the doping allegations, the UFCs going to have to take a hard line stance if the sports going to survive.

Their suspensions were handed down by the California State Athletic Commission. If the UFC wants to stop the usage, it's going to have to be them who take a zero tolerance policy. Write into EVERY contract that if you test dirty, you're done in the UFC.

The guys are true athletes! It takes years of training to become an expert in any single discipline, but these guys become solid in a bunch of disciplines while in many cases working to support themselves. I have all the respect in the world for even the lowest level MMA fighter.

I must say, the stars of "Human Weapon", a low level wrestler, and a 'champion' MMA fighter, are getting their asses handed to them in their 'travel the globe, meet exotic fighters, and beat them up' quest. Granted, one episode was Muay Thai...a challenge for anyone.
