I'm neutral on this one. I'm not sure how to define "elite diver", but there are many experienced divers who frequent this forum. I've learned more from this site than I ever did in OW class!
Of course, this IS the internet. For all I know all these people with 1000+ dives may have never even tried it. Probably some big fat bald middle aged porn addicts trying to be someone on the net.........nawwwwww. ![]()

I think I disagree, somewhat. It does depend on how you define “elite” but there are plenty of what I consider to be elite divers over on DecoStop and RebreatherWorld. It’s true they tend to not hang out on more recreationally-oriented boards, however.

Me too... I've talked to training agency founders, equipment manufacturers, exploration team directors, bleeding-edge decompression researchers, highly regarded technical instructors, marine sanctuary operations managers, marine biologists, archaeologists, career commercial divers, chamber technicians, and a host of other folks who put my meager knowledge to shame... all on internet forums. As CompuDude said though, they usually don't have much time for, or interest in, recreational diving forums. They tend to gravitate to forums where they have as much to learn as they do to contribute.

I disagreed. I have seen some really big names in the diving industry in forums. Granted, they aren't here all the time like some of us, but hey are "members" and do make the occasional post. From what I have seen, most of them are simply too busy to spend lots of time on the internet.
