Almost exclusively doubles.
Some dives I need them, some dives I dont but I am too lazy to mess with switching over wings and hoses on regs !

It depends.
I have one rig set up for single tank diving, and another for HP100 doubles. I use the doubles for wrecks, deco, deep, and any time I want redundancy or extra gas. I sometimes use them on shallow shore dives if I want more than 60 minutes of bottom time.
I started with a RecWing, and I REALLY don't care for it. I advise you to drop it like a hot potato and get a good singles wing in the 30# range. |

That's a good question. For shallow stuff (60' or less), a single would server me as well as doubles for the amount of time I'd like to spend. Below 60', doubles are nice so I can have my gas plan and stay as long as I like. (I have deco training so I choose the BT I want and go from there)
For an Example - a nice wreck in Lake Michigan - the Eber Ward. Its in around 140' of water and a nice 30 minute dive is about right for the water temps. Need doubles for that one. |
