I went from AL80's to a LP121 and now am thinking about doubles-partly because I have a DB who uses them and I want to be able to stay in the same bottom time category as him and not worry that it's my turn pressures that end the dive, but our NDL.

I'm a converted Rec wing user.

The Rec wing is not ideal for singles but it will work OK. You will have to work at managing the air in the BC. It can be a lot for a newer diver to manage. Also, if you swim through tight spaces also be aware the wing may taco higher than the tank and you could possibly snag it.

With my dedicated singles wing (Oxycheq Mach V) I don't even have to think about this stuff.

He is right about the Rec Wing. I have one and it is not ideal for singles. If you bungee the wing (diving singles) to minimize the taco effect you have to be aware that it will trap air. Not a big problem as long as you are aware of it.

I like Joe' s wing. I have been thinking about buying one in the near future.

Doubles most of the time, singles for quick fun dives.

I dive both, what I use for each dive depends on the situation. Usually I dive singles, but I am working towards wreck-diving, so I dive the doubles to get used to them before I hit the class. One skill at a time.

Rec wing will not taco up and no need to bungie it down if you send a note to DiveRite and tell them you want ;

The Wing Retainer Clip system attaches to your BC wing and waist strap and is used to keep
your wing from wrapping around the tank when diving a single tank.

Rec & Trek Wing Retainer Hook & Loop System

For years the Rec wing has been our top selling wing. Divers enjoy the versatile design that allows them to dive both double and single tanks. Same with the Trek wing. Occasionally we hear from divers that the Rec and Trek wings “taco” or wrap around the tank when dived with a single tank.

To remedy this, we’ve created Wing Retainer Hook and Loops that affix to the wing and the harness waist belt. For the past 45 days, our Rec and Trek wings have been shipping with the necessary wing tabs and if you are interested, we can send you the rest of the hardware you’ll need to set up this system. Just send an email to us at support@diverite.com along with your full address. Shipping is free in the US. Standard shipping rates apply overseas.
A copy of Wing Retainer Hook and Loop instructions are located in our online library at
http://www.diverite.com/products/library/productmanuals/
in other words, send them a note and they will ship you one

Bandaids do not change a fundamentally inferior wing. *shrug*
