A friend of mine has some condemmed al80 tanks. Any idea of what they are worth by selling them as scrap?

Depends on where you are and the price of aluminum. I know people have sold them for $20 or more.

Around here, aluminum is going for $0.85 per pound, that's about $25 for a 30 +/- pound tank.

If you have enough to make table legs it could be a great coffee table...That would sell for much more than the scrap. Of course the market may be small for such an item.

I think they would make better lamps than a coffee table leg. They could be lamps for storage room for gear or a theme room.

My local dive shop has a round table made using 3 tanks as legs. It is just the right height to sit around in deck chairs shoot the s...t. It also looks very cool.

Table legs seem pretty cool.
In our lake, there are several of them that have been anchored and some air added so they are kinda floating off the bottom a bit. Kinda like a tank graveyard.
