Pony Bottles

O.K. I'm looking at the Zeagle Razor reg for a Pony bottle and they have a list of tanks to add on. What is the difference between the 19cu. ft and the 20cu. ft? I know there is a 1cu. ft difference for all the jokers out there, but I want to know the difference in exterior dimensions to make the 20cu. ft that much more expensive than the 19.

Did a quick look here:
http://www.huronscuba.com/equipment/...ification.html

Saw several AL 19's but no AL 20's. There is a steel 20 and perhaps that is the tank they are mentioning. (usually used with RB's)

Next question: Are there any HP (3442) 13, 19, or 20cu.ft. pony tanks?

The catalina AL19 holds 19 cu.ft.

The luxfer AL19 holds 19.9 cu.ft. and has slightly longer outside dimensions. I have seen some sites that advertise the luxfer as a "20 cu.ft." tank.

I don't know of any HP steel punies that hold 3442. And all the Alum I have seen is 3000, no 3300.

The only AL20 that I have seen is shorter and fatter than an AL19.

Why not get a al40 and sling it? That's what I'm going to do.

Here are some steel ponies specs.

http://www.xsscuba.com/tank_steel_specs.html

more here:
Faber FX 3442 psi Series : Tech Diving Limited, a subsidiary of Scuba Training and Technology Inc.

Heres bouyancy specs for AL cylinders on this page
Aluminum Pony, Deco, and Argon SCUBA Diving Cylinders, Tanks, and Bottles

Make sure you figure in weighting before buying a steel pony bottle. A plain alum cylinder seems to be the best, and most common, and alot better priced.
I just bought a Luxfer AL 30 from Scuba Toys yesterday. Price was way better than anywhere.
I plan on it being a bail bottle to start with, and will rig it identical to the picture of the one in the previous post there. Except with Zeagle pony straps. Intention is to go deeper slowly and this bottle may become a deco bottle someday, once I get to 140+. For spearfishing( what I prefer to do) slinging is a last resort and back mounting is preferred for a bail bottle, unless absolutly neccessary. If it is used as a deco bottle, then you have the safety factors of a slung bottle, outweighing the convenience of back mounting. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Use those sites to get your specs (weight/size) figured out, then get superior prices at Scubatoys. Call them. That's the key to all internet scuba shopping. They didn't even have a Luxfer 30 on thier site, but they had one there for sale, and I bought it!
Also: The new Scuba Toys site, shopability/surfability, is superior to what it was a few weeks ago.
