Scrap tank $$$$

I took 2, 1980s tanks to the scrap dealer today. Minus the valves.
I walked out with a cool $13.00

Cool thats pretty good.....I remember think about this when I was behind a scuba store that had about 40 tanks there! Thats about $200...but I'd have to stack 40 tanks into my truck....which would suck!

I have a couple to take in too. Sucks that I didn't do it 6 months ago when the price was way up there.

6 months ago, $13 might not have covered the gas.

just think of the fun things you could have made with those tanks!

like a mailbox!

or a Lamp!

or you could make it into a Windchime and sell it on Craigslist like this guy is doing

I think hymark gives 10.00 for a regular alum 80, they have a price list on there website for scrap tank pricing. It might be a like a trade-in type program though, can't remember off top my head.

I like the look of the mailbox. Looks to be a 63. Wonder if my nieghbors would throw a fit if I put one up?

The "windchime" looks interesting, I wonder what it sounds like. Better have a reinforced hook to hang 30 pounds of tank, clangers and chain though!

I wonder if the wife would let me put a scuba lamp in the office?

I wonder alot becuase I have two, nice, AquaLung '80's in the garage gathering dust. I think one would make a nice lamp.

Do it......go ahead make a lamp and put it in the man cave....if she doesn't like it tell her your going to start selling them on the internet and need to see how it looks in real life......maybe that will work.....my wife would hit me and tell me to go to H*ll.
