Fills (reg. Plus Cave etc...)

i know what a reg. fill is... i know that there are plus fills (10% over)
but what are cave fills i hear about?

Cave fills are something done to LP steel tanks that many find nothing short of dangerous. Me, well I use them.

Case in point: My PST LP104

Fill: 2400 psi (non + rated) = 95cft
Fill: 2640 psi (+ rated nominal) = 104cft
Fill: 3700 psi (cave fill) = 146cft or so.
Fill: 4000 psi (Hydro test) = 156cft or so.

Now in doubles,
non + = 190cft
+ rate = 208cft
Cave = 292cft

In practice, cave fills range from 3600-3800 in well maintained steel LP tanks

i take it only certain places do cave fills? and im sure only for certain people as well.

Actually, in North Florida, its really common for anyone. Other places where Cave influences are felt, you will find it as well.

Now, it is done only for specific types of tanks. IE, no AL tanks, no steel 72's etc.

In 72's I get 3000 psi in my 95's like 3500 3700psi...
95's- 3700 -- 266cf.
72's- 3000 -- 174cf
