No different than a BC.
Get some Zeagle pony straps for like $45. They are the best thing going for a double tank strap settup. They work fine with a single also. I strap a 13 to my tank on my BP settup permanently. I can change it out for a 19 if I need to and I have a 30 for it also (rarly use it).

Attaching to the plate or slinging makes more sense.
With many of the piggyback mounts the Pony bottle gets mounted semi permanant to the bracket with hose clamps and a tank strap holds it on the main tank. This way it goes from tank to tank as you change out the main for consecutive dives. This really doesn't present a problem with rental gear. The one issue I have had with using this configuration was I found a standard tank strap difficult to get tight enough to keep the pony bottle from wiggling a bit more than I was comfortable with. This issue could be related to the profile of the Diverite Remora mount I use but I was able to eliminate the issue using a Apollo tank strap which tightens down much more firmly. The advantage of the Remora mount is it's quick release as opposed to having to release the tank strap in the case of your buddy needing the bottle.

Makes sense.
