Does a sling pony get in the way when...

I wear my pony on my back, but I was thinking of going with a sling. Does a sling pony get in the way when you are digging or hunting where you are very close the the ground(wreck)?

I know when I hook a piece of gear, like my goodie bag, on the front side of me instead of my usual left side it some times get snagged when I am low to the ground hunting for bugs.

I have some thoughts of a sling. I hurt my back and this would take a load off while setting up for the dive.

You can vary the lengths of some of the harness to hold it closer or further away from your body.

It won't snag like a mesh bag will, because it's solid, and doesn't have lots of loops of fabric waiting to get caught

Most divers use bungees to hold their reg hoses against the pony bottle. You could arrange it so those hoses were not facing outwards, but towards your chest, I think, and keep them from snagging that way.

Personally, I think a slung pony is the way to go, but that's becuase I have dreams of cave and technical diving, and would really be using it as a stage

With the tank slung under your arm, it wont touch the ground until you are about 3 inches away. Even then it will only touch. I've never had mine try to snag before.

Another option would be to butt-sling your pony across the bottom of your backplate or bc. I haven't tried this myself, but my instructor swears by it.
